Hello, folks...
Hope everyone is doing well. It's been a busy past three months. So busy, in fact, that I didn't realize that our 500th and final review, the lovely IL NUOVO MONDO (English language title: GOLDEN DOOR) accidentally did not post. A friend alerted me to this last week, and when I checked the blog, sure enough she was right. I'd written it up after the New Year and thought I'd posted it. However, it was stuck in my draft folder. Finalized, but not posted.
But, as they say, everything happens for a reason. Our inadvertently forgetting to finalize the posting of IL NUOVO MONDO (GOLDEN DOOR) has given us the opportunity to make our final review especially, well, special. We are going to make our 500th review... a double review.
Yes, folks. In addition to posting IL NUOVO MONDO (GOLDEN DOOR), we will review another wonderful film recommended by the same friend who recommended IL NUOVO MONDO (GOLDEN DOOR). It is another Italian film, the lovely and remarkably understated but powerfully moving LA PIVELLINA (English language title: THE LITTLE GIRL). And, frankly, I can't think of two better films to end our run on.
With that in mind, please expect IL NUOVO MONDO (GOLDEN DOOR) and LA PIVELLINA (THE LITTLE GIRL) to post this weekend. Thanks - and sorry for the oversight. But in the end, it works out for the best.
